Emotions and Oil

Emotions

Did you know emotions are affected by smells? And our amygdala part of our brain is only affected by smells?
The definition of Emotion is "a natural instinctive state of mind deriving from one's circumstances, mood, or relationships with others." (feeling) or (Intuition) instinctive or intuitive feeling as distinguished from reasoning or knowledge.

Do you remember a time when you have smelled fresh cut grass or smelt a fresh baked apple pie and immediately the smell takes you back to a feeling or an emotion? Then with that feeling or thought whether or not it brings back a pleasant feeling or a unpleasant one doesn't matter, (it brought an emotion right?) but the smell is what triggered the memory or feeling. So isn't that interesting? Because our lovely amygdala part of our brain takes in all of our emotions. Then whether as a child or an adult our amygdala decides whether or not we can process that emotion. ( So this is usually where the bad emotions that have happened to us along life's journey have ended up) So when our body decides we cant process something, we "Stuff it" Even if we haven't meant to, it is just a fight or flight response to protect ourselves.

So our emotions release either "positive" or "negative" feelings of good or bad. Or emotions will hold onto and "Redirect" (channel into positive expression such as work, play etc) OR "STUFF" which blocks energy and creates pain emotionally and physically.

Smells access our limbic part of the brain the amygdala, this is why an essential oil works so well at releasing negative patterns blocked in our limbic brain. Even in ancient times essential oils have been used to clear specific emotions. With the oil in Leviticus 14 16-17 "Then the priest shall take some of the log oil and pour it into the palm of his own left hand and dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand and sprinkle some oil with his finger seven times before the Lord. And some of the oil that remains in his hand the priest shall put on the lobe of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed and on the thumb on his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt offering. And the rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed."

You see in this cleansing ritual where cedarwood and hyssop oils were used and the specific points of the right lobe, right thumb and right big toe in reflexology are trigger points. The ear lobe is a place to release and resolve issues regarding their parents. The thumb and big toe are the trigger points for clearing fears of the unknown and mental blocks against learning, while the big toe is a point for clearing addictions and compulsive behaviors. The scent of cedarwood alone can help clear many buried emotions including feelings of pride and conceit. Hyssop is a releaser of swallowed emotions and spiritual cleanser of past sin and immorality.

You see, to help with releasing of our negative patterns certain oils high in sesquinterpenes such as cedarwood, frankincense and many others will help increase oxygen in our limbic brain. This in turn helps unlock our DNA and allows the release of emotions at a cellular level.

We not only have to worry about our own emotional blocked patterns from our lives, but we need to also worry about our 3rd and 4th generations of past emotional patterns. (that is cheery right?)
Deut 5:9, Exodus 34:7, Numbers 14:18, and so on. Certain emotional patterns have been found to be locked within families too. Even transplant recipients have reported strange memories etc. (Strange I know) But emotions are encoded in our DNA, so an organ carries our DNA. Our DNA is carried down from our parents.

So our Amygdala does not respond to anything but smell, not sound, sight or touch, Only smell can release emotional patterns that can hurt us. That is why essential oils and God's special creation of them have a tremendous purpose in our lives.
Bless
